Compántas Lir will present the first dress rehearsal and preview of this years play, Johnny Belinda, on Thursday 26th February in Carnmore Community Centre. The play rehearsals are intensive at present but the whole cast are very excited about the upcoming circuit. The backstage crew are busy putting the finishing touches to the set and props. Further backstage, Lighting will be energised by Adrian Moran, with John Keane to be heard as the sound and special effects operator. The group will head to Kildare town on Saturday 28th February for their first performance on this years Amateur Drama Circuit. This will be the groups's second performance in the Kildare venue, where they opened a historic show last year. It is unlikely to be forgotten as an hour before curtains, a nearby lightning storm took out the electricity. Having delayed the start, the group went on to perform under emergency lights for the first hour of the play. This year, our man on Lighting, Adrian Moran is bringing some extra Duracell batteries to ensure that if lighting does strike twice he'll be prepared !
