ImageCompántas Lir opened its three night run in the Town Hall Theatre last night as they performed The Year of the Hiker to over 170 people. The audience loved the show which has won many awards over the past month as it appeared in 7 festivals throughout the country. The awards have been from Director to cast to set and crew. This is a just testament to the amount of time and work that has gone into this years production. Tonight, Friday 4th April the group will anxiously wait on the final adjudication and overall results in their home Claregalway Drama Festival where they face stiff competition from D.A.D.S (Dunmore) and Holycross (Tipperary). A good result could see them qualify for the All-Ireland Finals which will be held in Strabane, Co.Tyrone in 2 weeks. Tomorrow the results of their final festival in Glenamaddy will be announced.

Take this opportunity to see the groups fine production of one of John B.Keane's most loved plays. Tickets for both tonight and tomorrow Saturday are selling fast but can still be got from the Town Hall Box Office 091 569777 and online at www.townhalltheatregalway.com/
