Sat 17th March: Lifford Players (Open) 'Moonshine' by Jim Nolan Synopsis of Play: At Easter a small village's Protestant Church is closing due to a fall off in the numbers attending Sunday services. Meanwhile the incorrigible McKeever persists against the odds with an amateur Shakespeare production which produces a magical transformation in the lives of six ordinary people.
Sun 18th March: Ballycogley Players(Open) 'From These Green Heights' by Dermot Bolger Synopsis of Play: Set in the sixties this play follows the story of Dessie from when as a child he first glimpsed the Ballymun Towers amid the fields of North Dublin, to the night in 2004 when he helps his young daughter pack to leave the flat that has been his family home.
Mon 19th March: Phoenix Players, Tubbercurry 'At The Black Pig's Dyke' by Vincent Woods Synopsis of Play: At the Black Pig's Dyke is a story of murder, mystery, fairy tale and tragic love. The play is set on the border of Northern and Southern Ireland where family feuds are passed down through generations. The story is told using the pagan ritual of the mummers' play as a metaphor for Ireland at a time where people laughed at a wake and cried when a child was born.
Tues 20th March: K.A.T.S., Galway (Open) 'All My Sons' by Arthur Miller Synopsis of Play: Based upon a true story, which Arthur Miller's then mother-in-law pointed out in an Ohio newspaper. The story described how a woman informed on her father who had sold faulty parts to the U.S. military during WWII
Wed 21st March: Doonbeg Drama Group 'Atta Boy Mr Synge' by Deirdre Kinahan Synopsis of Play: A comedy about what happens when a graduate of the 'Maureen Thomas École de Théatre' descends upon a bemused local drama group during their 25th anniversary production of Synge's 'Playboy'.
Thur 22nd March: Cloonacool Players 'Moll' by John B Keane Synopsis of Play: The story of how Bridgie an unemployed, uneducated, middle-aged Irish woman managed to outsmart three priests and take over the operation of a poor, rural parish and win the public admiration of the Bishop.
Fri 23rd March: Palace Players (Open) 'The Kings Of Kilburn High Road' by Jimmy Murphy Synopsis of Play: A group of Irish emigrents meet up to drink to the memory of a deceased friend and looks at their lives, lost dreams and their place in the new Ireland.
Sat 24th March: Shoestring Theatre (Open) 'The Lonesome West' by Martin McDonagh Synopsis of Play: Valene and Coleman are two brothers who have lived together for years with constant petty squabbling. Now after their father's death, and following the exhortations of the local priest, a new understanding could develop. Could, that is, if the two brothers could stop arguing over crisps, ornaments, who left the top off Valene's pen and whose turn it is to read a magazine.
